NO ! thats the problem gears one minute gone the next !...although I did have the stereo up pretty loud

had been detecting an intermittent vibration coming and going since I did the clutch !

Not sure, but check the shift rod coupler under the rear seat.

Check the drive splines in the brake drums
look for a loose axle nut

Sprays some glen20 into the thread then posts...:punk:

'This one time on band camp" I had 'issthues' with a clutch plate, had the oldskool adjustable tab thingies...after putting the engine back in the thing ran like shiet, and gears were hard to engage etc...thought I broke some strange sprocket on my thinimiebob wtf is going on PANIC etc :dork:.....so--oo took engine back out and checked it all out, and one of the nuts hadn't been tightened properly, so a tab was loose on the plate, so the plate was sitting crooked/uneven preassure so re-set it all and tightened it up properly...or do you have the new fangled whizzbang spring loaded type?

may not be of much use...but I know it freaking vibrated when it was wrong....

matberry - December 6th, 2010 at 11:46 PM

so pat was the shift coupling In need of mc lovin?

dangerous - December 8th, 2010 at 06:56 PM

sounds like something related to the input shaft.
Probably the throw out bearing or clutch,
or even the sleeve that joins the input shaft to the mainshaft inside.

phatratpat - December 8th, 2010 at 07:13 PM

so what youe saying is,the donk has to come out ! ! again......@&^(*@*

vlad01 - December 8th, 2010 at 10:09 PM

be grateful that you have a vw where if only takes 45min not some bs modern water pumper that takes 2 days to take out.

waveman1500 - December 9th, 2010 at 12:02 AM

Have you looked at the driveshafts and CVs? If the shift feels fine and there's a complete lack of drive then it could be on the output side.
