Beetle door not closing properly
Purple Martin - December 8th, 2010 at 12:03 PM

A couple of days ago my driver's side door stopped shutting properly. There are two notches on the strike-plate, the door only clicks into the first notch now. I've tried adjusting the position of the strike-plate but can't get it to work. Any ideas how I get the door to close properly again?

You can try putting shims... or large flat washers under the strike plate to shim it out..
if that doesn't work...
the lock in the door itself must be worn out...

Yes it's the '59.

Both replies say replace the lock/latch part, I guess that's the way to go. Now to find one... and matching barrels for the other locks

Thanks for the replies guys.

the door lock and handle are seperate to the actual door latch so you wont have to match
