How to remove distributor rotor? - T4
rossco_T4 - December 10th, 2010 at 12:21 PM

Hey guys,
Am new to this forum and am attempting my first ever job on my wonderful T4.
I need to replace the distributor cap, rotor and ignition leads. The only problem I'm having is that I can't get the rotor of!!
Sorry if this is a dumb question, from what I have seen I thought I would be able to pull it straight off but I just can't seem to do it. Is there a trick to it? Something obvious that I'm missing?

I was so proud of myself for trying to do this job myself (would usually just take it straight to the mechanic without a second thought but figured its about time I learnt some basic mechanical skills myself).

Anyway, thanks in advance for any suggestions. Apologies if this has been psoted before, I did do a search but couldn't find anything.

Thanks again.

T4 has 2 different meanings in our world.
Is it an air cooled Type 4 engine, or is it a T4 front engined transporter (4, 5 or 6 cylinder liquid cooled)?

The rotors in the air cooled models pull off.
