Attention all Brakes Experts

Got a Front Disk Brake kit for my Aussie '67 Beetle. The kit has the 5x130 pattern to fit my Empi 911 Fuch replicas. I got the kit from George at Classic Vee Dub, and they are set up to be used for 911 or Chevy rims - oh, and they came with 2.5 inch Drop spindles - sweeet!
The rotors came without studs, but are threaded to to take the standard Flat 4 13mm lug bolts (see below)

Anyway, I thought of adding a disk brake kit to the rear but have changed my mind. I now think I'll go with new drums with the 911 bolt pattern instead.

My question is . . . is it legal in Queensland to use adapters? Or does anyone know if I can buy drums with this pattern already drilled into them?

Any advice will be gratefully accepted.

not legal anywhere in Australia for adaptors unless engineered and good luck getting them signed off, you can get new drums drilled in 5x130 new, if you are going to get them from sherman get him to quote including postage and gst. he shafted me with price by not quoting these.

Hey thanks barls.

I did see his ad in the latest AVWM and have sent off an email - thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to get the FULL price.
Do you know if he can do the drilling? If not, who would you recommend? I'm north Brissie if that helps.

Hi
I DON'T BELIEVE ADAPTORS ARE LEGAL IN ANY STATE IN AUSTRALIA ?
Although May be used off road and
may never be used on roads in California....

I can't see why adaptors can't be legal if stamped etc....
the ones I've seen were excellent....

John Sherman in QLD does all the brake drums etc...

see his adds in VWA magazine.....

Personally, Disc brakes on the rear are a bit of an overkill..
unless You are racing Rallying or hill climbing etc...

as beetles in The USA Never had front Disc Brakes... EVER...
not even in 1978....
