Its calling closer to that time. headliner time. Was just going to call into an upholstery shop and just grab whatever they have but if a mitre 10 mega or bunnings has an appropriate adhesive, chances are it would be cheaper than a specialty store.

What have you used in the past?

I see on a lot of forums that alot of people have happily used Selley's kwik grip contact adhesive or selley's gel grip. But my concerns is that both have a warning about the possibility of the glue discolouring or breaking down certain vinyl sheeting materials.

I will be using this for a factory replacement hoodliner (off-white perforated vinyl), and for gluing PE foam (sound decoupler) to some Mass Loaded Vinyl (sound barrier) as my sound proofing underlay.

As you can see there is alot of vinyl involvement, and i would need something thats high temperature bearing for the QLD summers

I would use Selley's Kwik Grip. All adhesives, no matter how specialised and expensive, over a period of time eventually break down and discolour. Some climates will do this quicker than others.

If the car is only going to be used occasionally, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. You say you're using factory replacement hoodliner. The glues of the past were much more potent than those of today.
