Hi all,
can anyone tell me if they know of or where to get a banjo fitting for a 48mm IDF weber also must be with -6 AN fittings. I have looked at Earls
catalogs and it states that the banjo bolt is 12mm x 1.5 (think this is wrong for my needs).
For those that are familiar with the weber you will know that normally you have a push on barbed hose fitting about 6mm or so. I am 99.9% sure that
you wont get a fitting to screw into this location and then to an AN fitting.
But I was looking at removing the lower filter cap bolt and trying to fit an AN fitting into there. But this thread is approx 16mm.
If you can help, PLEASE do as I have no idea where to find one. I think it is pointless having all AN fitting from the fuel tank, through the tunnel,
to a regulator and then when you get to the carby having a hose clamp connection.
I hope that one of you have addressed this problem before, and please don's suggest EFI or changing carbs

Umm... is a 48 IDF much larger in size/layout than a 44 IDF ???
I ran the standard Earl's Weber to AN-6 fittings on my IDF's, and managed to make it all fit without too much hassle. Straight fittings that was...
not banjo's.
Are you trying to run the fitting towards the firewall, or out towards the deck lid ???

Thanks for the reply. Running both the hoses back to the firewall. I haven't been to Earls about straight fittings where the original barb one
screws into, but I was at Rocket Industries today and they had guys that use to work on Webers all the time and they said no chance due to the thread
size being to small. That's why I was looking at trying to use the filter cover bolt.

kev they will look after you. if he doesnt have one to fit, give him a week and he probably will.
hes just one of those blokes. he did all the oil lines on mine, also he use to live just across the road from grumble.
Barls - speedflow don't supply Earls... they're two separate companies. Speedflow is very good tho, and yeah - always found 'em very helpful.
I've done it both ways:
-with the offset manifolds I ran the fittings back towards the firewall, with a 90 degree hose end on the RHS carb (pointing up towards the
regulator) and about a 45 deg on the LHS carb to improve the bend against the firewall and across to the regulator
- with straight/tall manifolds I ran the LHS carb's fitting forwards towards the deck lid, with the same 45 deg hose end and a longer hose looping
back up across the top of the shroud to the regulator
So yeah... definitely do-able.

went back to Rocket industries to try and find a banjo to screw into the filter plug bolt and the same guy I saw yesterday says "hang on a second".
Comes back a few minutes later with AN 6 adapter that screws into the spot where the push on barbed hose fitting goes and will just use a straight
fitting (not banjo).
Why the stuff couldn't they work that out the day before. They do searches in books for the parts and cant work it out, but when they go and look at
their stock they find something to fit. I guess there are a hell of a lot of different fittings out there.
Anyway, all good now and thanks for your help (you to barls).

So, um... Was there a banjo combo that fit? I need a banjo or some kind of tight right angle coming out of a Holley Economizer progressive. It's
either that or come up with some horrible hard line solution or get the carb drilled and tapped for something on the other side of the inlet lump.
No, I have no other way. I can't turn the carb around. I tried that and because of the nature of my manifold even with a huge spacer the flipped
throttle lever can't clear the manifold. I want the adjustments accessible anyway.
To explain it's a Holley prog on a spacer that's 0.7" thick or something like that sitting on a subie EA81 manifold modified for a weber.
