kingpin disc conversion
chuttla - April 13th, 2011 at 10:51 AM

Hi all, I purschased a complete disc conversion kit a while back for my 63 beetle kingpin front end, this included bearings and caliper brackets to suit late model four stud discs. i also purchased new discs as i needed to get the inner race machined out to accept the new bearings. now my question is does any one know if or where i could find direct fit bearings to suit. ive searched the net and found some us companys selling complete kits that are direct bolt onto your original kingpin. thought id ask here before i start emailing them.
any help would be appreciated.

cheers damien

If not, this mob may be able to help you.

Have you tried here in Oz yet.

if they're the ones like i use, IE late VW discs and calipers onto link pin........then you will find there are no bearings that fit without the machining.

cheers guys, yeah when i bought the kit from the vw place in cambeltown i was told that you will have to get the discs machined. just thought id ask, and would prefer direct fitting bearings if there out there rather than machining.

As VW 54 said: "Talk to Boris @ Vintage."

The Vintage kit was installed on my link pin front end, 15 years ago, apparently the installation was easy.
I have never had a problem.
