Hey guys blew the girls 1200 on the way back from the flinders rangers, picked it up last night along with another motor for 50 bucks.

So the plan is to replace the crank case with the new one as i havent mentioned i threw something out the top of the case, not sure what it is of yet cause i only just got the motor out this morning.

So looking to replace bearings, possibly rings and anything else that is a general wear item (experienced guys may have some tips on what else to do while im there?)

So thats basically what im after, any tips or hints from people who have done it before, purely because i havent really touched vw's much and id like to do it properly.

Any help would be very much appreciated?
