Cylinder Head Removal

I'm in the process of getting the heads rebuilt and have taken the motor out, I never emptied it of oil before I did though.

Stupid question but thought I'd ask before I made a mess.

Do I need to empty it of oil before I take the heads off?

Not knowing how you are mounting it whilst working on the engine,I would suggest you do,the engine only has to tip a bit while you are working on it and it will run out of the pushrod tube holes. Even mounted in an engine stand it is easier to swivel the engine to get some of the tinware and exhaust undone. Cheers Les

No engine stand its just on a bench
