Engine in/out with dual carbs fitted
Thinker - June 17th, 2011 at 10:14 AM

Just done a top end rebuild on a 1500 going into a 1970 bug and I got a set of dual ICT 34 for it. I did a dummy set up last night and it looks to me that I have to have the carbs and manifolds off when I put the engine back in.
Is this the case or can you giggle and wiggle and get it all in.

Hi

The carbs & manifolds need to be off when you fit the motor.

get some hex nuts for the manifolds they make it much easier to install once its all in.

Yeah I can see how that would make it a lot easier.

I use the hex style, they a longer than a normal nut, and 11mm spanner and M8 x 1.25 thread, great on all inlet maniflods and exhausts
