1200 6v 54 bug

looking for some ideas for problem solving.

when accelerator is depressed coming out of corner or up a hill, the engine will intermittently feel flat or a very slight miss. seems to be when a light load comes on.

have checked dizzy/points - ok
plugs look ok
fuel filter ok/new

the carb inlet manifold heater does appear blocked, hot one side to first bend, warm other side to first bend, centre section where siameses with inlet manifold is cold.

any ideas for checking the obvious?

An intermittent problem won't be the manifold heat - carby ice just gets gradually worse.
Original dizzy is mech and vacuum advance - IIRC yours is a later 54 -> BR8.
I'd suggest you check the vacuum advance on the dizzy is working & the timing is correct.

timing was done just 100 odd km go by house of dodd.

i'll check dizzy, not sure if it has a vac advance. will have snoop around... thanks very much

thanks very much mate and vw54.

fitting into inlet manifold which receives hard vacuum line was loose.

started it up and it runs very sweeeeet again. not road tested yet, but that should be it.
