94 to 96mm bore and hone
66deluxe - July 13th, 2011 at 09:00 PM

Hi I am needing to find a business that can bore and hone a genuine Vw set of cylinders to 96mm. I have a set of AA 96mm cylinders but one is machined 0.020" shorter than the other three hence why I'm going back to finding a business that can do this procedure for me. my case is decked true so it's not the case.

Can't you just shim the odd one.

I could but I've never done it in any of my engine builds and I ain't starting now

why not just machine the other 3 to the same length. ?
Easier than boring and honing x 4

Well that's a good enough reason. Quality first price second I like it.

Mmmmm AA strike again.

Swift Race Engines, Archerfield, or maybe DB could do it.

Let me guess AA isn't German or Japanese maybe made in china.

Yes the AA's are made by Sum Ting Wong Inc. The original Vw seasoned cylinders are now at swift race engines in the same pile as Matt Berry's engine pArts. Hope they do the job well cause I wanna be at Warwick drags in October.
