Hi I have blue coil in my vw T1 1974 1300 TW Motor, now i need new distrubutor and what would you recomend??
I have this in mind but not sure if it will work PER-D186504 - PERTRONIX VACUUM ADVANCE (SVDA) DISTRIBUTOR - COMPLETE WITH IGNITOR IGNITION MODULE INSTALLED?
I hope to hear from you guys..thanks in advance Dean

Hi Dean

the blue coil needs to be measured for resistance as the Pertronix kits need 3 ohms resistance or more..

Blue coils are usually 1 or 2 ohms so they are NOT suitable..

The SVDA distributors are GREAT... the Best...

You just need a standard coil... 3 ohms or more...

Same style distributor, only buy the distributor without the Pertronix Ignitor Ignition Module and save yourself some money.
If you do go this way, I recommend throwing away the crappy points they install and fitting a new Bosch set.
The modules are great, though. You MUST run a standard coil or you WILL blow the module up!
