What would you guys fit to a 1800 twin port with a mild cam, increased comp ration and some head work, electronic dissy.

Are any of the kits from classic veedub any good.

"my" preference is Dellorto 40's
You can buy a refurbished set here
The benefit is you will get them jetted to what you want

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-PORSCHE-DELLORTO-DRLA-40-CARBURETORS-_W0QQc...

You will still need linkage, manifolds and filters

Are you planning on jetting these up yourself??

Can if i have too, but thats a pain, having to jet up, order what you think will be correct then either going not far enough or to far, then tubes etc etc, its ok if you have all the stuff laying around, but i have alcohol holley stuff, not weber or dellortos.

Ready to bolt on would be preferable

Kadrons are a good choice if you want something that will pretty much bolt on and go....

Dells, the only way to go.
But nothing will just "bolt on".

What about the empi kadrons from george, are they any good

1916baja - August 10th, 2011 at 08:58 PM

Kadrons are a funny subject around here, I have had 2 different sets of kadrons on 2 different motors and they were friggin fantastic. both were on 1916cc engines, the first set were on a 1600 first then a 1916, Never had to do any jetting on either of them. The second set we put the car on the dyno to re-jet and tune but didn't end up changing anything. Hey they probably wont give as much of a performance upgrade as a set of webbers or dells but they'll come close... and you shouldn't really need to muck around with jetting too much, if at all. On the other hand, some people hate them and say they are rubbish. Everyone has an opinion based on very different experiences. From my experience they are great :tu:

Seriously - it is hard to say any carb is bolt on.
Sometimes yes
Sometimes no
More often than not - NO FRIGGIN WAY!
