Hi guys. As part of my autostick replacement project, I removed and refitted my starter. The solenoid has 2 posts of which is used) and 2 spade
terminals. now I labelled the spade connector "top starter" but the spade terminals aren't really top and bottom they are more 10:00 and 3:00
looking toward the rear ofthe car. 3:00 being close to the trans. I suspect the spade connector goes to the 10:00 (ie the terminal closer to the
wheel), but can't specifically remember. does anyone have a definitive answer on this?
Thanks in advance !

Thanks Lee. I have a spade terminal about where your screw is on the left. My battery cable (and another blue/white cable) goes on the post as yours. I think I will take it out and have another look. Are those 2 spade terminals joined or separate do you know? According to the wiring diagram, the wire goes from the ignition, via the neutral enable switch to the starter - hence one wire to energise the solenoid whilst the key is turned and the trans is in neutral.
Hi
I'll check it out shortly for You...
I have had different starters in so I should know...
LEE
ONE TERMINAL IS MARKED 50
THAT IS THE ONE THAT GOES TO THE STARTER SWITCH
VIA THE NEUTRAL SWITCH
IT IS THE HIGHEST TERMINAL...
THE OTHER ONE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WHEN TESTED??
LEE
That makes sense. It's easy enough to pull out now with the engine out and up on stands so I'll pull it out tonight and have a good look at it and let you know how I go.
I pulled it out tonight... the starter that is.. and put it on the bench. It looks more like this pic I found on Rob and Daves site:
The terminal located "high and to the right" is labelled 50, same as yours. The terminal low and to the left is labelled 15a so I have no idea what
it's for! Obviously not used in our application.
cheers Peter.
