I see super crap auto has saas seats for $150. Mine are shite and this is a good option. Has anyone had any experience putting SAAS seats in a bug? Would I expect to remove the slide rails from the existing seats and bolt them on?

take your left seat out and pop down the shop and ask them if you could see if they fit , because a lot of those types of seats are tooooo wide..

The last time I looked at saas seats they looked like they had fibro backs. Admittedly it was a long time ago, but I didn't like the look of them. Needless to say I ended up buying recaros. You can find good second hand ones if new ones are too pricey.

As for fitting, I'd say you will need new base frames made up.

I got a pair of SAAS seats a number of years ago.

I ended up getting the original bases cut and welded and bolted straight up to the seats. Has worked a treat for the last 15 years.

From memory, there wasn't that much modification to do.

I had SAAS seats many years ago and they were fine. We welded attachment brackets to the standard seat frame and bolted the new seats to them.

Just make sure the new seats are not too wide. You will also need to get an engineers approval to fit them as well, otherwise you could be in all sorts of grief if you have an accident and they find the unapproved mod for the seats.

Apologies for revisiting an old thread - what are the maximum dimensions for the base and wings? Was considering a Sparco Sprint. Wings = 530mm, base plate 430mm with widest part at base = 490mm.Without measuring seems like it is probably too wide...
