Door Panel Repair . . . er . . . panels.
OldTimer - October 11th, 2011 at 06:47 PM

Hey guys,

Mate of mine is looking at a '67 which has some bad rust in the bottom drivers door, the usual place at the bottom.
Anyway, we were wondering if it's worth getting the repair panels advertised at CIP1, MA Motorworks, (I guess everywhere really), or to find a good second-hand door?

Neither of us are what you would call "quality welders - panel beaters", so he'd have to farm out the work anyway. We figure that a good second-hand door might be more "economical" in the long run?

Any thoughts?

In my opinion, you would be better to buy a real good second hand door. Be sharp, check what you are buying, and to be fair, a bare metal rust free door would be worth at least $300. Proof that it is perfect would be recommended.

Yep I agree. I think around $300 would be reasonable too.
Thanks for the feedback hellbus
