Anyone here know much (or anything) about these?
6 SPEED SPORTS AUTOMATIC DUAL CLUTCH
Google Volkswagen DSG transmission or watch this promo video.

If you are talking DSG in a new car - I got the 7 speed in my Polo GTi
Brilliant.
Yes - I have "heard" of failures on the www.vwwatercooled,org.au forum but have not seen or had any problems with mine
The sport mode is best but it drinks the fuels
The paddles are fun - but WTF trying to use them going round a cormer
I just leave it in drive

Sorry '68 autobug' the touareg never came with a dual clutch box, fluid autos only. 6 speed in the old one and 8 speed in the new one. The DSG should not be confused with sports shift or paddle shift fluid autos. The amarok will be getting the new 8 speed auto from current touareg because dual clutch boxes dont work in off road conditions. Direct shift gearboxes dont have torque coverters thats why they are known to be a bit jerky when parking etc.

1.9L TURBO DIESEL, 6 SPEED SPORTS AUTOMATIC DUAL CLUTCH
I know I could probably do the doctor google thingie but out of interest what do you fellas think, sound right?
if its the same box thats in the tdi golf wagon, they are pretty good. almost to the first service in mine. cruises nicely. i got the 2L though.
Donn the caddy sounds right, the tdi engines have a narrow power band so the dsg suits it well, you could never row through a manual box as quick as the computer controlled direct shift gearbox. I took a tdi jetta with a dsg for a test drive the other week and I was stunned as the torque wave hits and it keeps on pulling with the tacho needle the only way to tell the gearbox was going up a cog, a conventional auto is sluggish in comparison
Looks like I'm gunna find out, just landed it, need to get to Adelaide though to pick it up.
