dubai - January 3rd, 2012 at 09:25 PM

Hello, I think I have a pre ignition problem? After the car is switched off the engine continues to run and eventually shut off. I know this is bad for thee engine so if its excessive I stall it.

Today I adjusted the timing its a 2.1lt engine what should it be set at 5,7.5 or 10 I set it at 5. it runs really good before adjust me it was set at 15 - 20 btdc range for extra hp i think. I have set the timing please advise.

Next is the IDF webber I know nothing about these has anyone got any drawings tips etc I think the pre ignition issue might also be due to the webber running rich I want to adjust this so any tips would really help

Hi

Running on can be caused by a few things, among them too high an idle speed or overheating, the way your rear tin is fitted could cause overheating and big motors dont get very good airflow in an oval body, either get some hood jacks or prop the bottom of the lid open.

Your carburettor is either a 40 DCN (3 bolt) or 40 DCNF (4 bolt) not an IDF

I have a Chinese stroker in my sons car, it made the timing marks 6 degrees out, so do a positive stop test to find out if your timing marks are correct.
