Hey I have 1300 single port that is stock but in really good condition
I want to upgrade the carb to something bigger, chasing a bit more power and I wanna do something a bit different to a 31pict/34pict or dual
34ict's.
What do you guys think a cool upgrade would be??
32/36 progressive?? I think you can even get 32/34 progs
40dcn??
Zenith??
I wanna stick to a single carb, just something a bit different than a solex
Cheers!!
Hi
I have seen SU and Zenith carbies on VW engines..
You would probably need to have the manifolds modified or made..
Twin carbies is probably the way to go with a 1300 single port engine...
and ratio rockers??
unless You can get something used and cheap...
its going to cost a few dollars...
Do You have an extractor exhaust system on Your car??
are you running the original distributor??
Someone on Here may have something for You???
cheers
LEE
I have an aftermarket stainless GT exhaust (empi) and the stock SVDA dizzy
I'd rather do a single than twin carbs
Everybodys got twins!!
Thanks
the 32/36 progs are a good carb once you get them jetted right but they love the juice.
Yeah I've heard good things and really bad things about the 32/36
i did have one but sold it years ago, as fair as i know he still has it on his bug.
it was a great performance boast but fuel was cheaper then.
if you get one make sure it has a vacuum secondary and you get it jetted right.
there is also the twin barrel progressive off a lada niva. its basically a copy of the same carby but all the adjustment screws are in at the back and
easily adjustable
Aren't the jets and the adjustment on 32/36's all on the back of the carb, so to tune them or re jet them you need to take the whole carb off??
Sounds like a pain in the rear to me
they are up against the fan housing on the 32/36. hence why the lada one worked so well they were facing away from the fan housing. made it easier.
Would a 40 size weber be too big for a 1300 single port? Could it be jetted down enough??
they are a bit big for a 1600. you can change the veturi to reduce it down but i woulf think something around the 34-36 mark would be better for a 1300.
Holley bug spray???
never used them
I'm seriously considering the bugspray, it's something different, and vintage
Anyone had experience with them??

You wouldn't happen to have a single port manifold to go with it??
I'd take it off your hands if you did!!
I used to run one years ago - had a lot of problems with a flat spot.

Cool
Let me know, I'm keen for one on a manifold, preferably with heat risers
Do you guys run them with a 009 dis?? They don't have a vac port do they?
They have a vac port
Bonus!!
