What Type of cam in 71 DP 1600 engine

Hi guys,

Hope someone can help me. I need to know if the 1600 Dp (AD)engine from 71 bug have the three bolt flat lob cam in it? I am wanting to buy a fuel pump but was told it is compatible with only the 3 bolt cam engine. Any help would really be appreciated. Cheers

Hi

The cam changed in May 1971 from 3 bolt to 4 bolt. Its pretty hard to tell without pulling the old pump out. You could go on engine number but that may be inaccurate as well.

do you mean oil pump?
wouldnt have thought a fuel pump would care what cam?

oh yeah sorry I mean the oil pump. Hmm so I guess mine will be four bolt cam then since its a 71 motor = ( So its certain? Thanks
