Has anyone tried one of the replacement 34 pict carbs on a stock twin port engine, I know they are made by Empi and come from China and with Empi's
track record at selling shite quality parts I am a bit worried about fitting one, the original carb on this engine is not repairable so we need to get
something.
I need some input from someone who has run one of the empi replacements so I can decide what to do, or if anyone has a good original 34 pict3 and
manifold let me know.
Thanks
I had a customer who fitted one,he had a s..load of trouble with it and after 6 months bought a used carb from me and fitted that to fix the problem. Cheers Les
Thanks Les, this is what I expected, but needed to know for sure, will try and get a good used one.
same deal, new empi carby couldn't get it to work (now an expensive paper weight) so got an old german one rebushed and works perfect.
Ditto for me too, couldn't tune it so rebuilt the old one
The new ones have a separate idle circuit. you will need to solder up bleed hole in throttle plate to operate properly.

I looked around for a “good used 34pict” but soon realised no such beast exists. Updated to a 32/36 Weber and very happy with it.

I think I have a couple of good ones in the bat cave ......so pm me if you need one and I will have a look.
THe same, tried one, took it off and refitted the old carb after a rebuild.
