but it will be cheaper and a better job to buy new

I wouldn't weld that with your welder. :) LOL this is now scrap for sculpture.

bit of sikaflex to hold the seat in and she's a good un. :)

Gotta admit that the casting on that head is pretty shocking as how on earth is there an air pocket all the way round the seat area?
