Fuel Hoses
Weeds - May 23rd, 2012 at 11:11 AM

Going to start replacing all my fuel hoses as they all look perished and not sure when they were last done having just bought the vehicle.

What are the best type of hoses to buy, the current ones just look like standard rubber hose to me...should I be looking for a braided type line? Also what is the correct size of fuel hose I would be looking for?

Cheers

I just use normal rubber fuel hose, that way you can inspect it and be able to tell if there are cracks forming.

I recommend German VW hose as it is the correct metric dimensions, when looked after and replaced every 5 years or so, it gives exceptional service. The cheap imperial hoses found at many Auto shops is garbage.

Cool, thanks guys, the last thing I need is leaking fuel!

Where do you get the German VW hose from? Found some on Ebay in the US, is the fuel line 5 or 7mm??

Just Kampers Australia online shop.

http://www.justkampersaustralia.com/shop/fuel-hose-5mm-diameter-per-1-2-metre...

if the link doesnt work, just go on the site and search on 'fuel hose' they have 5mm cloth covered and 7mm cloth covered.
Check out all the other goodies while you are there, its a great way to find all the useful stuff.
