Floor pans
Grasack - June 26th, 2012 at 09:57 PM

Am looking to replace both rear sections of 68 beetle floor pans.

Which brands and suppliers are the best for this equipment.

Am not interested in chinese manufacture.

Do Empi and Klokkerholm units appear to be at the top of the list ??

Am in Melbourne so would prefer suppliers down here.

Any info good or bad would be appreciated

^^^ x2
Most that are readily available are very thin and hardly worth the effort of fitting.

And most Empi stuff is made in China these days. Mr Empi would turn in his grave.

You know VVDS really need to drag themselves into the modern age and have a proper web catalogue. I dislike wasting my time phoning to see if someone has a part instead of finding out in a fraction of the time.

Just saying ;)

Those Manx pans look like the ones available worldwide. If so they are great quality :D

Thanks Guys for the info
I am not sure that I need to go the full pan replacement as the the inner and outer edges of the pans appear quite good. It has been previously welded in both wells (Where the damage is) with bits of metal plate. Bit of a butchers job!
I might take out these welded plates and see if I can fabricate some wells or even leave it flat
To cut out sections of $720 of pans seems a waste of money. Money that could be spent better in other mods.

If you know a metal fabricators with a bead roller or similar then making your own panels would be cool as. ;)
