Has any one ever replaced a choke cable on an early beetle? how hard is it to do?

If it the inner & outer good luck.

The inner is a snack to replace....just release the cable at the carby, and pull the knob until the wire is all out.

The outer is more difficult, especially if it has 'rusted' to the conduit. Squirt WD-40 down the outer cable, release the carby clamp, undo the al. nut at the dash, and remove the fuel tank. Then keep twisting and pulling the cable until it comes out......taking care not to break it. You won't need good luck if you are patient.

Yes I need one, don't know if I can get the inner through the existing outer, I can't even pull whats left of the inner out.
