Hi all
Just picked up an engine that I believe to be a 1600tp and was curious so I started looking on the net to identify it by the engine code.
The code on the block looks to be OZ 160716 I can't find 'OZ' in any chart does anyone know what this is?

Well I thought they followed the german codes as the engines were shipped from Germany. Not sure if they ever started to make engines in the Oz VW factory?

My 1200 is a recon so the orig number has been ground out and a recon number stamped in there.
