"Monaro" twin SU manifold
Grasack - August 26th, 2012 at 08:54 PM

I have what I believe is a twin SU manifold for a 36 or 40 hp motor It has the marking "DC552" on the smaller of the manifolds
See attached photos
Can any one confirm that this is a Monaro brand manifold and how do you tell the difference between the 36 and 40 HP manifold ??

36hp and 40hp are different diameters at the head, 36 obviously being the smaller

yep 36hp are smaller

very nice set up for the early sixties performance gear

Do you know the dimensions of the 36 and 40 HP heads ? And what is it measured at OD or ID ??
Any Idea of value on the market ??

Looks like they have been bastardised to take later h2 carbs? Are there studs welded on the top and bottoms with threaded holes below them?

You"re spot on there. Yes they appear to have the studs welded on and there is a threaded hole below them

What is the h2 carby

H2 is a later model su carbs. The base gaskets below show the difference between a h1 & h2 mounting flange.
