I am looking at some alloy rims spec 17 x 7.5 offset 35P the standard steel rims on the Caddy are stamped 6J 1542 ET 47 (what ever that means )
What's your educated opinion on wether they will fit? I can't test them as they are a long way from home, yes I am aware that the diameter is
different.
Thanks in anticipation
Don
Will sit approx 1.5" further out from current wheels & 1" further in on the inside, go full lock, both ways, allow for that much extra, ideally
more, think about up/down movement of the shocks too & if everything clears you should be fine
Oh and your track increase is just on legal limits without engineering paperwork, in qld at least
I can only guess at the diameter of your current wheels, it looks like they are 15" x 6" with a ET of 47MM, the new wheel with a et of 35MM will
only move the inside of the rim in approxamatly 7MM, the problem will be the rim on the outside of will move approxamatly 31MM, you will have to
check that you have enough clearence on the suspension and mudguard side. all depends on the tyre size you are going to run also. ckeck the links as
follows.

Google wheel offset calculators, tyre/tire size calculators for a visual of it, 1010tires & miata forums are the best I've found
Dont forget the centre bore size, most modern cars have the lip on the face of the hub.
Your new wheels will have to have the same size centre bore or they wont fit
links are as above.
Cool, thanks heaps, just need to check the centre bore, although there seems to be a diference between measurements vwo60 has given and those given by STIDUB, at least I understand what it means and know what to look for now, yes vwo60, the existing are 15" so obviously I'll need to go for a lower profile tyre, that should improve the already rather harsh ride , also I'd beter check the allowable track increase here in the nanny state of NSW. great links BTW, thanks again.
If you go to the links that i posted and put in your size's and et"s it come out as i stated
