Exhaust

I'm going to change the headers on the split due to it having one of those GT monzas set up. I've already got a set of headers off my old lowie panel which came off a type 1 donk. What i want to know is, the ones on there now have one side of that top flange (heat riser?) that connects to the inlet manifold blanked off and the other side still looks connected. Can i blank both side's off or should i connect back up the same? It does have a bad back fire when backing off down a hill.

anyone suggest a good brand of muffler that i can bolt to the header flange or a place northside of brissy that sell them.

What carb/s are you running?
Is it a 2 or 3 bolt flange for the muffler?

single stocko, and its a 2 bolt.

It will be better to have the pre-heats working
The 2 bolt is a Kadron exhaust. I think you really have to get one of their mufflers.
Not the greatest headers but they still work ok. Put up in the wanted section and someone might have one laying around.
I have the same exhaust on Tricia's Dormobile but wouldn't spend too much money on a muffler IMO (I bought a 2nd handy)

Sorry man flange on header is a 3 bolt. know of a good muffler that will fit?
So one side of the pre-heater would be ok?

Preheat has to pipe the exhaust gas from one side to the other. To make operable you need to drill out the fittings on some exhaust systems. Also the manifold is regularly blocked and needs cleaning out. Beware replacing the muffler to get the same orientation on the flange bolt pattern.

Does anyone know if these bolt up and clear the bumper of a split?

I have a set of extractors (maybe empi) that have had both top pipes extened for a bus that came off my old lowie and all i need is a muffler to get rid of that (like Andrew said) horrid monza!!

I've got a dynomax muffler that came off ash's old splitty. It's a 3 bolter so either a flange change or I've got my old merged headers off my bug/ash's bus?matts probally got some pics of them when thy were on the bus or think there was a feature of it in vma.
