This was a very famous vw rod with Porsche six cylinder motor.The paint was candy gold (with real GOLD flakes!)
It won a heap of awards across america before misteirously dissapearing never to be heard of or seen again.

Hey Scott I thought the same thing when the first pic loaded, and then confirmed when the second pic loaded with the HotVWs sticker on the rear window.

I reckon it was about 1985 - may even try and hunt out the issue.

There's a pic of this car in VW Trends June 03. Says it was done in '87. Not sure if I like it, but you have to appreciate the quality of the work!
