How do the airbags go as far as handling?
Do they lose the Shock absorber effect and make a disaster of rough corners?
Thats My only concern,
The cool Pose takes second place to having a useless car.

Unity-28 - November 7th, 2003 at 12:59 PM

They ride better than stock! Thats why Buses use them, thats why Big Pick-ups use them, and all the minitruck guys use them, if they didnt they would have used Hydro's! Oh and you use them (generally) with shocks!

Hydro's are a rough ride, You can get them to run A little smoother using Accumilators (spelling), But bags would be the best bet.

So the shock absorbsion is taken up by the structure of the air bag?

Buggs dont have the inertia of busses and trucks, they are so light

which I think has a certain amount of effect on the ability for airbags to absorb the bumps, I dont just mean soft ride, I mean appropriate recoil etc so the light little cars dont jitter off cliffs around corners.
I would like to see some test info above "they are cool, so they are obviously better in every way, Anyone whos cool knows that!!!"
which is the general response to the questions, like the emporers new clothes.

I will let you know when the car is finished! But there are different types of bags. As I stated in my first post in this topic, I think those bgs are too big, for the lightness of a bug, but if you get a sleeve type bag, for lighter cars, it will handle and grip the road nice! Brian Who is doing my car has the rear of his notch bagged, and I can tell you from being in this car, the rear rides so much nicer than My notch by a mile!...

Exellent, I am keen to know.

Living in Australia can be frustrating, we are so retarded when it comes to these things, the things I saw in California made me feel like we australians are a bunch of Hicks, in some ways we kick ass but in many ways we are so far behind,
You can see cars running hydrolics in 70s cheech and chong movies but we feel proud to promote "as I saw in a recent TV ad" that we have a ute that actually jumps off the ground,
Its almost too embarassing to get into it when we are so far behind.
I found a beetle in Hayward California, it was full of the hydrolics and was the full beener mobile with gold knock on centre caps and window etching, and it was old news and it just sat in a yard because no one wanted to bother with it, but they didnt want to sell it because they had spent too much money on it.
A luxury we cant afford here because when we come back to it, it will be rusted out.
Anyway, good to know you are making the effort, and I'll keep an eye out for your type 3 in the future.
and P.S. I know Hydrolics are different to air bags but they are in persuit of the same effect.
cheers Tony
