I guess if I had a genuine GT40 I'd be nursing it too... humiliating though.
Maybe its just one of those funny caption photos
& the reverse actually happened !

nahh the article ses that

"the beetle chasing a ford gt40 replica,

so the beetle did kill the gt40

the gt40's prob gotta stock datsun 1200 in it

Never mind the GT40 Replica what has the Beetle got in the back of it?

I have a Pulsar GTiR with a 2lt turbo and AWD and my car would have troubles doing a low 13's pass down the 1/4 and that bug is doing 13.26?

here's the spec of the Targa car (1993?)
along with the other car that did the London-Sydney.

Pretty impressive when you think about it as there is no Turbo and all the electronics to go with it (EFI, ECU, AFM, TPS etc etc).

Though with new rods, cams, valves, spring, forged pistons etc it's one expensive little engine that Beetles got so it would wanna go fast!

At the moment I's just settle for a new clutch! Anyone wanna install one for me for free? I'd love you forever! :kiss Even take you for a ride round the block!

That was Doug Shepherd's GT40. He built it after building a couple of Cobras and I believe it was not far off an og one in HP. But yes that beetle of Boris' went like the clappers. I watched it absolutely flog Ferraris, Mustangs, Aston Martins, Porsches and a Lancia Stratos factory rally car around Symmons Plains. Very embarrasing for the big buck boys toys. volma1
