this place was so eerie.
tall dark trees towering over a mass grave yard of shells.
the earth had well and truelly reclaimed the metal and everything was well on its way into the ground.
the cars had an almost organic look to them.
the place had been there 60 years, so some of these cars were very very old.
heres a few snaps so u will know wat i mean...
enjoy
sam
i know some of you will know where this is. the place is being turned into scrap metal, may already hav happened. there didnt seem to be any more
salvageable bits on these cars.
its a real shame, maybe 20 years ago some of these beauties could hav been saved, especially that container van. wat a waste...
check out that stack, look at the age of some of those cars...
nice moss on the bus too.

man, your photography is great, shame to see such a cool place disapear tho,
Whatever is under the blue *squints*...anglia?!?! in the second last pic, I want!
What a !#*!ing waste! and nine times out of ten when you find these places the usual answer is, No their not for sale I am going to restore them one
day.
cam, do you mean right at the bottom? of so i believe it is a mid 30's Chev.
Twenty years too late.
:cry
Rob...
yes, thats the one alright dude. I know it's mid 30's something. Just can't tell. I'd LAAAARVE one of those things to cruise
around in
thanks for the compliment, but the place was so photogenic im sure u can see that.
felt like bringing a few home just to keep coz it seems like such a waste.
it was such a bizarre place to hav established a wreckers, in the middle of the forest???
the trees and the undergrowth did a great job of destroying the cars, even late model fords were almost unsaveable tha degredation was so bad there.
more of a burial ground than a place to salvage.
heres a few more pics...
see written on the side of that huge coach in the pic above:
"GOD MOVE ME"
Love 'em!!!
Didn't get a chance to look at the pics ............
I was too busy looking at Sam's avatar!
:bounce
that's soo sad! I hate people like that! They all deserve a beating!
hmmmm rat look....
So where is it then?
so wheres this place Sam ???
Did you check the steering boxes in those splits. The 11 window still has its one there. Worth pulling if its any where near decent!!!
Surely you could use that Container van as a template to build another?
Cheers
Steve
Surely if it is all going to be crushed you should let us know where it is so whats left can be saved?
Nicko
sure guys, the place is in morisett. there is no listing for this wreckers anywhere we could find, and i was driven there so i dont know how to get there or the street name. sorry...
u shouldnt b angry at the owners, the only thing the owner did wrong was setting the place up in a bad environment for decay.
as for holding onto the cars, its a wreckers, not some guys back yard, and VWs were no where near the majority of cars there, there were dozens of old
cars i'd never seen before.
if ppl had wanted to buy and restore any of them im sure they could hav many years ago, this place was a business and they wanted to make money, so
its not there fault, blame the ppl who walked past them wen they might hav been salvageable. all the good bits hav been removed so obviously ppl hav
seen them and just stripped them.
sam
ps:and yes in my opinon the container van is well worth getting. i will try to find out the location so u guys can hav a look if u like, hasnt anyone
else been there b4???
wreckers can be rights bastards some times though...crushing stuff and the like...I had to stop talking to one guy that ran a scrap metal/wreckers I
asked him if he had any VW and he said "yeah I just run em over coz people always wanna pick stuff off"...poor bloddy diddims, did those
nasty people want to give you money..shame on them...weeew weeew
while I am ranting...I went in this guys "hay shed" and there was a pretty little oval ...great condition, also a mori minor, FB holden
wagon and FJ holden...I asked his wife about them,,,the VW was their aunties that couldnt drive any more and had been in that spot for about 5
years,,,,the other cars had similar stories...he was "doing them up" what a bastard..doing them up my arse, not geting around to one project
..ok but 4 or 5 geeeesh...and the ovel wasnt even a project it looked great.....
rant ended
i see ur point
I called into Morriset on my way to Sydney on Wed. I could not find the yard but does any on know whether it is to the West of the freeway or it is close to the centre of Morriset. I just love going to old wrecking yards.

Ask Walter Mitty! he has been there a few times he told me about the containervan there are some things I would have taken from the van hinges especially they are unique to the CV Thanks for the pic's that is the 6th one I have a photo of .and there are now 10 CV's I know of Has anyone got any pic's or know of any more?
wouldn't even the glass and some of the bumpers be worth grabbing....even if somebody got stuff they didn't need and sold them on the forum
to make their fuel money back
though this is sad these are fantastic photos sam
