so you want big rims on your bug??
Dasdubber - June 18th, 2004 at 02:41 PM

Here are some 19in rims on a nice two tone beetle...

Dasdubber - June 18th, 2004 at 02:42 PM

And another...this time only measly 18in. Man I think I might get a complex with only 17in on my beetle :cry

dont know if anyone else agrees ,but i think the older style cars look better with old style wheels not the newer ricer boy styles.
but thats my opinion ok

wrecker67 - June 21st, 2004 at 09:02 AM

looks good, but you need the taste for the, on a bug...what about the inner guards scraping,,,as long as it looks good hey,,,

KruizinKombi - June 21st, 2004 at 10:02 AM

pod, I agree, but only on period-styled cars... Cars with more modern styling, such as Steve Carter's bug, look great with big alloys. :D

nbturbo - June 21st, 2004 at 12:24 PM

Bullshit-they both look AWESOME

oval TOFU - June 21st, 2004 at 12:58 PM

i dont mind the newer rims on the older period cars, but I reckon they should have more metal rather than the spindley spider-like spokes... some Merc E-Class rims would look good, as would some Jag-styled rims...

moonlite6t6beetle - June 21st, 2004 at 04:05 PM

anyone know where to get 17inch rims for a 64?

Midlife crisis - June 21st, 2004 at 04:15 PM

I think they look good.
Not what I would do, I like the older style on older cars.
But each to there own taste on their cars

Marc

What about wire spoke rims on an older Beetle? This would look very interesting!

Robo - June 22nd, 2004 at 06:55 AM

Im with Pod, if you want new style, buy a new car! and I don't wear a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches!
Rob...

byronbus - June 22nd, 2004 at 09:52 AM

Ive seen your jacket Rob, it goes with your cap

nbturbo - June 23rd, 2004 at 05:55 PM

why don't you give the jacket a go-could start a new trend-couldn't be any worse than the crap our people are wearing now trying to keep up with the yanks.

Dasdubber - June 24th, 2004 at 09:50 PM

I must admit I am not a huge fan of the second one but love the first (although would have ditched the two tone).

Pod and Robo, I gather you are not German/Euro Look fans? :)

I guess thats what makes the vw scene so cool, so many different looks and everyone likes different styles. Personally I get bored looking at car after car of 100 point stock restos... and I do like tweed jackets with leather patches!!

(just kidding) :P

ducky - June 27th, 2004 at 10:29 PM

I like first one but bet they scrape

Dannyboy - June 28th, 2004 at 08:29 PM

Do look good on older bugs but not with a 2 tone paint job. All a matter of taste i suppose

Dan:)

type3kid - June 28th, 2004 at 08:32 PM

purists will hate me. i think they both look tops, you can't go past an old school car with nice paint, on it's guts and big rims, just me though. i do still appreciate the original llok, the only thing i hate is ride height. i like my cars LOW

ikube - June 29th, 2004 at 06:27 PM

c'mon ...
18" 19" ? how can the dub move, unless it has a 2.0 turbo ? it's gona be slow starting for a stock engine...
maybe comfy on long distance cruise ? ^^

type3kid - June 29th, 2004 at 09:29 PM

hell dude nothin wrong with that, might save a few points onm my license

wrecker67 - June 30th, 2004 at 09:01 AM

BiX - June 30th, 2004 at 11:57 AM

mmmmmmmm 19's, wonder about 20's with some very low profile tryes?
