Looks like the car is a 2 door Peurgot 206 or something like that. Ether way. Sure as hell aint a 1980's volvo with 2 inch side intrusion bars.

buzzbug - December 31st, 2004 at 08:42 AM

DIY-DUB - December 31st, 2004 at 03:18 PM

205 maybe, not a 206

Cam - December 31st, 2004 at 03:27 PM

Yeah, it's a pug. I've seen some crash test footage of bikes hitting cars and this ain't far off a "normal speed" side impact.

NigeType3 - December 31st, 2004 at 03:47 PM

Ive been on a bike thats hit a car side on but just in front of the driver. I was only doing 50Km/hr totally pushed the bike into the engine bay just behined the front wheel. It was an old Honda CB250 so not verry heavey. I landed 35m down the road not nice. My bike had to be pulled from the car and the engine was cracked strait down the middle.
Was not my folt either the driver was parked on the side of the road and decided to chuck a U turn as I was about to ride past her.
As I was laying on the road I could only think the worst as all I could hear was kids screeming.
They were thankfully alright but instead of consoling her kids she decided to come and abuse me for hitting her.
I couldn't even walk but somehow managed to take my helmet off and hit her with it. I was later arrested for asolt.
That was a bad day.

buzzbug - December 31st, 2004 at 07:13 PM

Nige that is bad luck dude,
though congratulations for hitting the mole with your helmet.

that happened to 2 mates of mine,
1 lost a finger
the other was knocked unconcious taken to hospital, the person he hit did a runner. He was lucky that a passer by took down the car details and put it in his pocket before the ambo came. A week later he found it and the cops paid them a visit.

NigeType3 ..from a fellow rider.....should have hit her harder!.
mabey every car driver should be made to do some time on a bike and a truck, then they might see that when you`re driving either of these, you spend 95% of your time waiting for a car to do something stupid....mabey they are just too comfortable...."that reminds me, i should get my twin cab on the road soon so i can drive around half asleep too"

if you see kaye - pug was my first guess but what speed to do that scheitt :jesus

NigeType3 - January 4th, 2005 at 02:31 PM

I don't think I could have hit her very hard at all as I vagely remember trying to stand up and falling back on my ass. Leg was F_UCKED .
Its real easy to lose fingers on a bike always use kevlar reinforsed gloves. My left index finger has no knuckle where it joins the palm as when I landed I bent it all the way back and exploded the knuckle into dust. They discovered it 2 weeks after the acident even though I kept on complaining my hand was in pain. By then it was to late to do anything. Government hospitals suck especially when they are footing the bill.
My leg is still stuffed but is livable if I ride my bicycle every day, infact because of the crash I discovered mountain bike racing and havent looked back. Now cars out in the bush.
Is amazing how something negative can push your life in a positive direction
Cheers Nige:thumb
