How cool does this look
A4Play - April 13th, 2005 at 03:33 PM

It's a photoshop some guy did in the US and he is thinking of actually putting one together.

LOWBUG - April 15th, 2005 at 09:14 PM

Looks like a bug had sex with mini van.

64vwmark - April 15th, 2005 at 09:37 PM

I like it. It looks like a 40's ford. Would make a good street rod inspired VW custom.

bajachris88 - April 15th, 2005 at 09:52 PM

thats pretty cool.

Looks like 1/2 beetle (front), 1/2 Kombi.

Be interesting how this guy goes putting it together.

orange75 - July 17th, 2005 at 08:17 PM

Seen one done before, very neat, very cool when lowered, would hate the welding though. Wonder if any beetle hearses were born from ideas like these?

barls - July 17th, 2005 at 08:21 PM

been done before one was in hot vws a while ago. think they call them a bug bus or something along those lines. this would be a great way to rebuild a car that has a smashed roof ;)

crewcabconnection - July 17th, 2005 at 08:37 PM

it will look as bad as the dodgy photoshop work too.

twoguns - July 17th, 2005 at 08:41 PM

crewcabconnection - July 17th, 2005 at 08:43 PM

Mr TwoGuns proves it. Burn it.

barls - July 17th, 2005 at 08:43 PM

VWFREAK - July 17th, 2005 at 08:46 PM

squizy - September 5th, 2005 at 10:53 PM

There was a kit of this type in the US called the Shogun I think. There's a guy on the Central Coast that has apparently done a Beetle ute, but with Type 3 rear guards. I haven't seen it yet, but apparently it has been put together well.

71superbug - September 5th, 2005 at 11:58 PM

hmmm...anyone interested in starting up a VW hurse company? :p

DubCrazy - September 6th, 2005 at 07:16 AM

This was a kit in the uk from "wizard" the people that bought the wizard roadster and beetle ute conversions. there are plenty of them floating around over there some done very well others not quite as good... your could also get it in a baja format so you could have the cut down baja front end and big rims/tyres on the back, the rear arch's were flared and cut away. sure i have pictures some where see if i can find some...

DubCrazy - September 6th, 2005 at 07:24 AM

All i can find for now, there were different style to this one as well .. with out the big guards just stright down like the photo shoped one...

71superbug - September 6th, 2005 at 09:11 AM

that is actually pretty darn nice...i cant say i would complain if i had one like that sitting in my garage.

didnt they make kits for beetles with just that front end and a stocker rear end though?

Anthony:ninja:

DubCrazy - September 6th, 2005 at 07:52 PM

that front end was made to go with the rear but a quite a few people got the front end and put it onto a stock bug, a few used it with the actual wizard roadster..... like anything people would change use some parts to make it there own... till trying to find the baja one as that was mental..... same sorta shape just all cut away etc etc....

steff...................................

Fossil - September 7th, 2005 at 04:41 PM

vwtyp2 - September 7th, 2005 at 11:05 PM

Beutler did one in the '50's.

you Porsche fans should recognise that name.
