These kombis I'm told are common in Bali, but having never benn there I don't know.
they look like Brazilian Kombis
and it looks like Bali
What a mixed up Kombi. So how do you guess a model year???
:o:o
from the ID plate.... and the running gear.. they r a bit of a mix up ....
I was in Bali about 2 years ago and don't remember seeing too many of these. There were a few bugs and things over there. Mainly used as rental
cars. Saw a few custom beetles over there too, Cal Lookers mainly.
Theres a VW specialist in Kuta Beach, cant remember the road. He does a lot of hire VW's too.
Saw quite a few custom cars over there, best was a pillarless EH Holden with a really radical interior.
Hey I love it
Ok, it's different but it has the colour and decoration you would find in an Asian country
Never been to Bali, maybe it IS time. Dean were the VW's for hire older models?
Different is good sometimes:rudolf
70's models mainly Jen. You could hire with or without a driver.
Cool, most excellent:thumb
Mmmm, like to drive myself
Better, a group could rent a very nice house cheap, hire cars and cruise Bali:party
Was in Bali a few years back and saw another variation on this. Was so cool. A split top half, on a bay bottom half. Saw more than one too. So cool as they were IRS, disc brake front end etc but old looking kinda. Wanted to bring one back but hey what can ya do? Remember reading somewhere it was something to do with them not getting all the new tooling etc. Don't know if its true.
WOW....might be a good source for Deluxe quarter windows there....hummmmm
that looks like Daves triple cab splitter from albury that sold recently, except his was a splitter, and strangly enough is has been sold to a guy who is going to use it as a beach driving mobile or something, maybe he was inspired buy what he'd seen in Bali....hmmmm
pretty kool kombi a bit of a mix from a couple of years, i think we should plan a aussie veedubbers bali holiday hire some houses and VW's and cruise around in style :bounce :P
Does anybody know the genuine pros and cons of importing a Kombi, from Brazil, to Australia (QLD in my case)?
I've heard alot about thinner panels, poorer quality etc, but is this all smoke and mirrors? Brazilians seem to stick with em!
And if the actual vehicle is OK, then will it be rconsidered roadworthy for oz?
jason, dude make a new thread in general chit chat instead of posting in all the other threads. and i already answered your question in the thread
about "excellent source of new parts at excellent prices".
