There was a good article in Ultra VW ( issue Feb 2005) of a guy who spent 28 years doing up a Pre A 356. If you ever find or buy a copy is a great read, plus its one of the best looking pre A 356 around.
Here is a link to a summary of the story.............

And different 356 stuff..................

356 Limo service .

Custom 356 Panel Van.

That is one mad looking 356, I seen a bunch of those guys the day before DOTV at Chirnside Park, while I was cruising in my bug. A few guys gave some big waves, but then there were a few eliteists too who looked in disgust. Should be more rat porsche's getting around, if only to put some noses out of joint.

AUS356 - January 12th, 2006 at 02:34 PM

Thanks for all the comments about my car. I'm not sure who shot the image but it looks nice. I have to thank Dean at Volkspower for the enormous effort he and his boys put in to get this car to where it is. I also have posted another image for the guy who wanted to see more of it. Email me if you want any more pics or to chat about anything VW/Porsche. I too think that the DOTVW should be held at the same place as the 356 registry concourse, same - same to me. I was the Vice President of the Australian 356 register and I bought this subject up more than a few times but it never amounted to anything. I will bring this cart along to the VW day this year or somthing throughout the year. In the background is my 1954 Pre A V screen rat rod.

Sorry fellas, can not seem to upload the picture I want to. Any help would be great. I am sure you simply have to attach it as per any normal site but it does not seem to be uploading.

oval TOFU - January 12th, 2006 at 02:47 PM

keep the pic under 50kb...

AUS356 - January 12th, 2006 at 02:53 PM

Thanks for the reply but the file is 42k, in either Jpg or giff format and it just does not seem to upload. If anyone wants the pic or could upload it for me email me at marc.banks@drydentech.com and I will send it over, if you could upload it that would be excellent.

StenGuns - January 12th, 2006 at 03:32 PM

Beautiful machine.. What is the paint code?

AUS356 - January 12th, 2006 at 03:51 PM

The paint is a GMH color Martini Mica, it is the light metallic green on the new commodores.

Oasis - January 12th, 2006 at 04:07 PM
