there were only two types ever made, the second one being the bottom picture and the other being an extremely limited amount of the top few. I think
they're only in the wolfsburg museum and nowhere else.
Has anybody ever been?

Funny; in the early days of this forum I mentioned the 4-door type 3 and was howled down by a bunch of people who said they never existed...

Heya Nick how is the square?
I think i have seen pictures a long while back of a 4 door type 3 fastback that made it into production in Brazil or Mexico.

I can't even visualize what a four door fastback would look like..though it does conjure thoughts of the possibilities of suicide hinges :P
