The landing actually looked pretty pain free (better than some of the other buggies where it appeared that the spine of the driver was the best suspension they had)

What race was that?

That was the Waikerie (SA) Long Course Enduro 29/30th July - and it's not a baja, it's a tube frame buggy with a baja body attached, which I think runs a 2lt VW donk (buit I could be wrong on that part)
