Just looking through some old pics and came across these. The blue/white 58 with semaphors was a 4 year project to restore, and I had the privelage of watching it grow from shell up. My mate Patrick (owner) actually had to cut half the front section out and then refabricated the VW logo himself. He even made a set of Dollies to build the battery holder the same as it would have been originally with the half circles. He still has the original engine but has replaced in Kombi with a 1200. I actually entered it in the VW Nationals for him in 95 (I think). It came 2nd
I think that hi top van now belongs to silver on here
Got a link to any pictures of silvers? The one I posted was around mid 90's
Yep thats mine Thats how it looked when I got it from Vic in 95'
Heres some pics after I restored it
You must have been there on that day then Silver. As this was in NSW. Cant for the life of me remember where or exactly when but it was organised by a VW club.
Nope not me it would have been Vic
Do remember talking with the guy on the day. Inside at that stage was pretty rough and was filled with heaps of junk (mainly VW parts). Must still be a one off. BTW you have done a very nice job Silver

Factory Built
it is called a Container Van
they are Aussie only and production numbers of 190 or so makes it one of the rarest VWs ever
Well if I had not been on this forum and seen Silverson the road. I would have said I had seen two lol
But it appears I have just seen the same one in two paint schemes. They most certainly are rare and huge inside (like a Tardis)
7.5 cubic meters
I must say, you have done a fantastic job. I love yur choice of colour scheme. And it certainly does not looked as battered inside as when I saw it.
Thanks, but that was 6 years ago and since then the poor thing has worked mostly everyday and has experienced some misadventures
It is being restored again this year and I am sure I will retain the colours
This is now
