benjicon - August 25th, 2010 at 01:15 PM

Nice :) Was that a web find or you doing 3D now :P

vwjon - August 25th, 2010 at 03:22 PM

how does it go round corners without ripping the guards off? how did the rear tyres fit without catching on the suspension torsion rod? i'm thinking its not as it seems! (photochop?)

Ahh, see I took it to be 'model' as in a plastic model or miniature... my guess probably 120mm scale, or a REALLY frikken detailed 1/35.

If so then yeah - nice bit of kit bashing !!!

:tu:

Its a late 60s bug that somones made into a type82e replica

One wonders if the L handle and bananna overriders are the real deal or repoops.
real ones would be almost worth what the car is

Sides - August 25th, 2010 at 04:51 PM

Yeah, my money's still on it being a miniature... like I said a pretty good one, but a few things that make me think that way... mainly the tyres, the lightweight look of the jerry can rack and no visible lines on the hinges.

What say you _me_ ???

;)

What is the vertical in the middle of the window?

baghall - August 26th, 2010 at 11:24 PM

I agree that it is probably a model and a very good one considering the wipers.
Hey bajachris I am also going to put jerry can holders in front of rear wheels but will be fitting them on a modified side bar. Don't like the idea of staight of side.

bajachris88 - August 26th, 2010 at 11:33 PM

lol that was my idea ish as well  Make use of the side bars to do more than just protect the rear guard from trees.

handy spot though. My only worry is 20 ltrs of fuel in direct exposure to sunlight, but that shouldn't cause an issue should it?

KellieDobbie - August 27th, 2010 at 07:06 PM

Looks tough, a military-grade vehicle. Yeah, a real badass miniature?

Joel - August 28th, 2010 at 09:48 AM

Damn, some of you people need moar internetz trayning on how to spot photoshops

The bug is very much real, but the rims have been photoslopped to look bigger

Just one of the many type82e replicas out there
ruined by using a late model bug
Heres what the real thing looks like

I loike duck boards

baghall - August 29th, 2010 at 08:22 PM

Not very water tight, but I could have done with the drainage when I flooded the inside of my car.

bajachris - I don't think direct sun would be a problem when you look at 4wds and their jerry holders and the army wouln't carry them on the backs of their vehicles if it was a problem.
