VW pics with distractions added. Hmmmm
helbus - August 29th, 2003 at 11:32 AM

I love this forum, and it is the only place I go to for VW stuff, because it is so broad in the VW sense.

Now in regards to "broads" (sic) I can go to any one of at least 10,000,000 sites.
If I or anyone else chooses to go to those sites, so be it.

In my opinion this forum is broad, but it is probably better we stick to primarily VW topics, rather than stuff which has a small percentage of VW in it.

Probably better adding a link with a warning. I'm not a wowser but anything above what you would see in a newspaper or daytime TV should be flagged in some way.

I might even start posting pics of Sylvia's and VL turbo's and we will see if anyone gets offended. :D

I think people know what I mean.

I'm not after a massive debate here, just peace before there is one.

:kiss

Get over it...

Personally I don't care if people post 'em or not.

I bet if some pics of guys with VWs get posted there will not be outcry.

Simple. If you don't want to look. Don't.

It's pretty clear from the title of those posts what's in them.

72TWINCAB - August 29th, 2003 at 11:51 AM

If you don't like a thread, you don't have to look at it. That's what the subject title of the thread is for.

Problem solved:thumb

Maybe we should ban HotRodMatt's avatar as well, it's clearly hardcore porn! :P

helbus - August 29th, 2003 at 08:04 PM

I think I was misunderstood.

There was a post with the title of "Dubs and Girls" I was ready to post a pic of Fleur and her Kombi thinking it was about the healthy number of female dub owners out there to have a bit of a chat or show what dub they love.

I was not dissapointed in the content of the thread, but I for one misunderstood what was going to show up.

Well I know what you guys are like and like and have learnt to take it/not bother looking.

Newish members of the forum are finding out the hard way. Next time they will know not to bother when they see the words 'Dubs and Girls'

You see similar pics in guys flats who are bachelors, or in the local mechanics shop maybe seems to be part of the culture. Sorry about the generalisation.

You know me I've tried to find pics of guys as a get back, they just aren't around:( and haven't found any willing models :D

It really is a guy/girl difference thing.

I love a naked or semi naked body if it is my guy, otherwise I don't both to look. Doesn't do it for me, sorry.

Mind you I don't mind checking out clothed men if I'm not with anyone. Guess male cheese cake doesn't do it as much for women/me. We go for the total package. Mind, body and soul.

That last string was a bit much but, and really most of the women were pretty damn tacky:puke

vanderaj - August 29th, 2003 at 10:52 PM

All,

this forum is for all Australians with VWs. I know many of you like these types of images, but please refer to the rules of this forum on image content. This has been hashed over before, and I'm sure will be again. The rules haven't changed, and will not.

When posting, ask yourself would you show that image to a 8 year old or your mum? Would you feel safe looking at it at work? What about at a place where you can be summarily sacked if you get caught looking at chicks with not much on? If not, don't post it here.

Moderators - if you see images that sail close to the wind, plonk the thread in suspended posts, and we'll have a talk about the thread. If the images contain naked people, just delete it.

Andrew

vw_mistress - August 29th, 2003 at 11:48 PM

I was one of the "newish" members Jen was referring to. As I stated in my response to the flesh posted, it's not that I find it particularly offensive, I simply don't understand its place on THIS forum.

If I was smoking a cigarette next to you and you found it unpleasant or just didn't appreciate it in that communal space.... i would put it out. Maybe thats just me.

Being a girl and driving a v-dub, i opened that post anticipating viewing something very different to what i found.

Stick it up on the back of your dunny door and do what you like with it.....email the pics to each other for mutual benefit.....i don't care - as long as others peoples views and morals are respected and taken into consideration also.

that's my 2 cents.

:P

decked dubby - August 30th, 2003 at 12:26 AM

um...yes, nice split.:D

jenz58 - August 30th, 2003 at 12:28 AM

Rach, save it to a folder like 'My Pictures' then - NEW sub-folder of whatever title U want to put pic in.

Then resize image.

I go for 500 x 450

I use Microsoft Power Toys as it only a right click and resize etc.

Can't just cut and past pics off of another website here

Well you can't on any forum I've found:cussing

Hope it helps.

Wah, can't hink but in I need help with the Forum topic there is stuff about posting pics:thumb

rachael brown - August 30th, 2003 at 12:31 AM

i worked it out, its posted above. the image was too big thats all, i thought that since it was on vintagebus the image was small enough. yeah nice split!!!!:o

type3kid - August 30th, 2003 at 04:08 PM

hey happy birthday rachel, and you too chris!

as long as the post is following the rules there is no need to stop posting the pics, but whoever creates the post may want to consider a warning line in their post, just so the newbies don't get misunderstood.

jenz58 - August 30th, 2003 at 11:43 PM

Hey Rachel

Great to meet you tonight on the cruise:)

I know it's nearly over but

whatnow - August 31st, 2003 at 04:37 PM

just a thought. i'm not female, but personally i find the pics in the dubs gone wrong thread far far more confronting than pictures of scantally clad females or a totally nude male. (btw where is the equality in that? if one of the pics in the other post had included a similar pic of a female would it still be there???)
please note, i like that pic (the male guy and the kombi) and an in no way offended by it. just having a stir. :D
back to what i said first. IMHO anyone who finds posed pics of women in stupid clothing more confronting than seriously nastly smashed cars (and how the drivers must have been after some of them) has some warped sense of life.
no i'm not saying please delete the other post, it might make some people think about how they drive thier car... it has made me think.

henry.

cray - August 31st, 2003 at 10:40 PM

just a note on the 'if you got caught looking at that sort of stuff at work, you'd get fired' bit, chances are if you're viewing a forum like this you're breaching your company's internet usage policy already anyway...

Spook - September 1st, 2003 at 06:05 AM

Once upon a time, when this forum was a democracy, it was agreed by a majority of the members that we would have slightly "risque" pics in this section.

Nothing scruffy, certainly nothing porn, not even anything full frontal. Tits & arse was about it.
This was preceded by a warning that;
"This thread contains nudity"

It was then at your discretion as an adult whether you opened it or not.

Twelve months ago there was a "takeover" (for want of a better word) & an officious bloody bureaucrat went power mad.
His will over rode your discretion & (some) of the nudity went. The nude male stayed.

There is no point trying to discuss it. This is done Andrew's way or not at all &
you'll find most of the people who just accept that, weren't here before it happened.

If you haven't been here for at least 18 months to know the difference, then you aint qualified to comment.

Robo - September 1st, 2003 at 07:05 AM

Whos that aimed at

Spook - September 1st, 2003 at 07:32 AM

Anyone!

I have the luxury (or the lament) of being able to compare the old with the new, & trust me they are two entirely seperate things.

There is a diffence between accepting things the way they are, & not knowing any better.
