My 73' convertible 'Pam'
KaptainCu - April 21st, 2013 at 10:39 PM

Hi guys, longtime dreamer- first time owner!
Picked up a 73 convertible in January- 'Pam'
She goes well (really well) and the kids love the convertible- climbing in and out at school drop off and pick ups!
Only draw back is she florescent Pink!
Just fitted some fat tyres and she looks great. What's the verdict on vinyl wrapping? Thinking of getting her wrapped in matte black but unsure how the engine heat will affect the vinyl.
That's all I got guys- ill post some pics once I work out how!

Welcome to our forum and VW ownership. At least your kids can show up to school in something unique.

I am not sure how the vinyl wrap will go but I am sure someone on here will know and pipe in.

Bring on some pictures as well

Vinyl wrap should be fine. They wrap anything and everything, so I'm sure they'd have trialled it under intense heat.

Also, might want to consider not wrapping and getting plastidip.
It's basically like wrapping, but you just peel it off.

Show us the pictures.

Thx for the spiel mate- I believe that plastidip may not standup to the rigors of a 5 and 8 year old climbing all over the chassis!!
Thoughts? Responses?

I think itS only about $30 a can .
youd have to ask autobarn if you could touch up paint later on if needed.
