Well put the bug on the dyno for a tune today after super owen and greg?
Spec:
2332, fk10, los panchitos heads 40 x 35, 9:1 comp, 200 airs, 135 mains 55 idles
1st run 72 hp as it was (blocked idle jets) doh
2nd, advance timing to a total of 31 instead of 24, so normal advance at idle is now 13 degree's, filters on and drilled out 55idles to 60 and put
185 airs in, i thought they were 175's anyway we got 98hp with out filters
3rd run, put the 200 airs back in and changed plugs, put filters back on and got 98hp again. we worked out the loss in hp with filters on is 3 - 4
hp.
4th run, filters back on, loosened the tappets to 6 thou as jason at southern motorworks said the valves were not seating, wow, we got 100.3 hp
atw's(5116 rpms) and 159 ft/lb of tq(3123 rpms), what a day, stuffin idle jets that killed my day tho, glad i got it done
so final is 200 airs, 140 mains and 60 idle, the los panchitos is around port head, wedge ports would make this thing fly, but dont need it atthe
moment.
Great result!!
Nice
good result , bugger i missed it as have an engine in a bus ready to be dynoed
Nice grunty street engine with low down torque
Cheers Col
Thanks guys, no change from 4 big ones though
For the dyno work??
Yeah $400 for 4 runs and tappet adjustment on both sides. Blocked idle jet on one side didn't help then it blocked again
That's money well spent

I don't know what Southern motor works charge but approx $150 an hr is pretty typical. That's just dyno work not mechanical repairs if required. Those machines aren't cheap and it's saved your engine from an early failure by the sounds of it, doesn't take long to burn valves.
A little tip......get the basics sorted before you take a car to the Dyno (tappets, timing, blocked jets etc) and this will save you time and $$ on
the day.
Congrats on a good result.
Nice result! What carbs?
believe he is running Decades
