I got some pretty positive interest and feedback at the Gold Coast show last weekend, so I thought I'd make a thread for my new bug as I hadn't put
any info up about it yet.
I've had several air cooled Beetles over the years, and am in the middle of restoring a 74 L bug at the moment. I got to the point where I needed a
second car, so that I could take the old bug off the road for a week or so to complete bigger jobs without worrying about how I was going to get to
work. So I looked around and test drove a few cars, and finally settled on the current version of The Beetle.
I see this turning into me now having two cars to work on, as a list of things to do has already populated itself for the new one... whoops...
As the waiting list for manual was... well... let's just say a really long time. I opted for a base model without any add-on packs. There was a black
one waiting to go to a home, so it became mine.
Here are a couple of pictures for you all.
And here are a couple with my 74
This is one of two other Beetles that I've seen on the road in Brisbane so far. I have seen a plain white one in traffic, and there is one done up
like Herbie that someone sent me a picture of, but it may be a dealer registered car and not actually owned by anyone as I know the custom plate on it
belongs to the dealer.
All I need now is a "New Beetle" (2000s era) to complete the set
Any questions that you may want answered, please feel free to ask.

Lowering is on the list. But not that low.
Local has a white one..
the dash really looks great with white as every thing not white stands out... or everything white stands out...

Take the VW badges off it and have a look at latest Porsche

looks nothing like the new beetle.. now old new beetle.. lol
a very different looking Golf or a porsche looking golf..lol
I haven't seen any on the roads locally, but then again I didn;t see a new beetle on the local highway for many years.
only a few local ones in the past 3 years or so..
nice car...
LEE
It has great lines, nice ride:-)
I have been describing the wife's as 'more Porsche looking', coz I honestly
Think it's more sportier and swoopier, much less rounded and flowery, but still undeniably a beetle
