Finally we have our first bug, I believe it's a 1967 going from the the number configuration and the numbers matching on the ID plate and the stamp on the floor. My boys and I can't wait to rip into it.
G'day and welcome.
Tell us more of your plans
Have a blast. Lots of fun!
Welcome to the world of VW owners..
it has 4 stud wheels.. maybe from a later beetle 1968>??
on the front apron it has the round holes for the deluxe over rider bumper support stays.. [towel rail bumpers]
the windows have been out at some time as they don't have the stainless steel trim in the rubbers..
BIG job ahead of You... Go for it..
LEE
looks like a nice rat
welcome aboard!
plenty of info for you in these parts..
enjoy
looks to be a miss match of years could be anything!
Got to do a bit on the beast over the weekend, started to remove the glass and clean out the inside. I just want to see if someone could confirm for
me the stamped numbers found on the pan matches the compliance plate on the body. From what I found on the net that it's a type 1 made in Oz and does
the 3rd digit refer to build year. Also the engine stamp below the gennie bracket starts with a H which refers to a 1500.
And the last photo is hopefully what it will turn out like after a lot of hours money and patience.
Cheers guys

Body is 66 pan is not. Unless you have 4 stud adaptors.
best to get it up and running and rego on it, before you pour to much money into it.
you would be supprised at how many people do old cars up only to release they dont like the way they drive and ride,
