and there its annoying when you sand it back in spots only to find abit more rust and you think crap not more please dont be any more and yeap its

so far i have pu in about 4 days work

more pics
and a couple more at the moment i have taken it down a friends house to do the rust repair work when im free and when im not doing that ill be getting the guards prepped ready for paint
Are you going to take the body off the pan ?
Looks like a lot of the rust was previously bogged over
I want to do a body off but i have looked at the pan really well and ive decided im going to cut all the rust out and do all my rust repair panels and
stuff so it will be cheaper
Im still deciding to get the inside of the car sand blasted and underneath
IMO take the body off.....its not that much more work and you will get a better final finish to your resto.
I will guarantee the sills will have rust areas where the body and pan meets.
So your saying if i do a body off i will find tons more rust craig haha i didnt wanna hear that im trying to tell my dad it would be a better to do a body off cause it would be easy to replace the heater channels then weld in peices so i have no idea which way to go.
Body off.
Its easier to paint the pan, it gives you better access to painting the body, and it gives you the piece of mind that all the rust can be accessed.
Body off, if you want to fix it properly, you have no choice.
You'll never achieve a good seal between the body and pan and the rust problem will only get worse. Just undo the bolts, prop the body up and have a good look.
since most people are telling me to pull the body of the floorpan i have decide its a good idea i should
and just working on the body rust repairs until i save up enough for the heater channels and floor pan sandblasting
i havent been able to work on it since friday night cause i got a peice of metal in my eye and got it since removed
but told not to use a grinder for a few days but ill be at it by the end of the week
Safety glasses
YOu won't regret taking the body off. Makes it much easier to do it all properly!
I tried preping the pan with the body on. I took the body off later on and regret not having done it in the first place now. It makes access so much easier and you don't have to contort yourself to get into some of the tighter places. Body off every time IMHO.
ive removed the body from the pan and just currently unpicking the heater channels and making bracings for the doors this week so it doesnt flex too much i will upload pictures this week of my current progress
a couple of pic i quickly took yesterday after getting one heater channel off and wow what a mission
Finally
