Been playing with this one a while.
Only rule is "Must remain stock!!"
Been plenty more done along the way...retractable seat belts, full brake system redone with hoses, wheel cylinders, shoes, master cylinder. 12v
conversion, starter relay and fuse box for trailer, gearbox clearenced for late flywheeletc and starter, new engine mounts, handbrake cables etc etc
etc
And then this just arrived and will get treated up like the roof rack over the next few weeks. Link pin stubs, bearings and hubs
Very nice.
That first photo is a gem!
All the best, Rob.
Cool project cart Daimo....colour matched and , ......stock
Sweet!!!
Hey hey, yeah it's pretty speeeeecial .
I was looking for a mini trailer or "woody" one for a while.
Driving past this one in town as the previous owner painted, put some business signs on it and loaded up his mowers, I hadn't noticed the VW wheels
at first. He had only just purchased it and I figured the only way to pry it off him would be silly money so he could operate out of a new
one.......
On the bus Monday morning months later, almost past it, glimpsed it at the front of the yard with a little sign "for sale". Much to my surprise I
owned the lil bugger within the hour
Plan is to go something like the roof rack, stained and marine lacquered with some nice curved guards and a few "trick V.W" plans too
Tried for some flared beetle guards, but that was never going to work.
So this would be Mule Cart, #Phase 1
Was supposed to be going back to bare timber, but that patina was irresistible!!!!!
Best help was there again.....installed all these while I had a beer
Can't wait to see it do a hot lap around wakefield with te the trailer attached
I could do that.... Deal is you camp in it over night
wow that's is awesome!
thanx
Getting some more done, some scrubbing on the sideboards, lifted the sheet on the deck to find the Neptune sign underneath and got a sealer coat on
the deck
Organised some more suitable mudguards too
Are you going to convert it to IRS
Lovin it
No IRS, but figured out how to get it lower
Why thankyou Mr Torrens
Bit more
....freakin lovin having a project again.
Cut off the fixed front and made some stays for the 4 corners
Aiming to get these odds and ends sorted for drop in gates. Then it will ready for decent timber all round (except deck), cause found plenty of rot
in the corners of the current boards  ..........but bugger that till it's lower
Pinched the ole mans tailgate and made it fit for a temporary.
Moving in the right direction
Look'n sweet. Those guards are gonna be top stuff, and the timber is coming up so nice
Painted up the new corners.
Did a 100km round trip with a load, crusied well still, engine no hotter.
Threw some billies at the Mule.....
also!
Take care of that 'Neptune' sign please Daimo.
Yeah Greg , thought about that when Neptune was mentioned in your thread.
Do you have somewhere to hang it?
